Karoo Oy is developing the next-generation Karoo Adventure Camper, which is exceptionally lightweight compared to traditional motorhomes and caravans, weighing only 750 kg. Its modular design allows it to adapt to various needs: adventurers can customize the camper’s spaces for sleeping, cooking, and relaxing according to their trip requirements. Due to its transport and storage capacity, the Karoo Adventure serves as a comprehensive base for hobbies such as mountain biking, fishing, or hunting.
A unique highlight of the camper is the integration of interior and exterior spaces into one large living room using built-in awnings and walls, allowing campers to enjoy the surrounding nature seamlessly and experientially. The camper can be used year-round.
The project implementation period is from November 2023 to December 2024. Deliveries of the pilot series are planned to begin in 2025, with full deliveries starting in 2026. Initially, we are targeting the European market with this product.
The European Regional Development Fund finances Karoo Oy’s project, which is part of the “Renewing and Competent Finland 2021-2027” EU regional and structural policy program. The project is being implemented with the help of the Central Finland Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre).
